Daveform Quintet
Formed in the autumn of 2022, the modern jazz band is the fusion of American, Scandinavian and Balkan jazz in the modern jazz style with room for large-scale improvisations. The jazz jazz ballads to contemporary classical music and sloppy grooves from slow grooves to sludgy grooves.
The band’s namesake, composer and drummer is Dávid Szegő (Santa Diver, Nasip Kismet, Tha Budapest Turnarounds), Dániel Mester plays alto saxophone, Subicz Gábor (Subtones, Modern Art Orchestra) plays the trumpet, Krisztián Oláh (Oláh Krisztián Quartet, Nagy Emma Quintet) plays the piano, Ernő Hock (JÜ, Decolonize Your Mind Society) plays the double bass.
So far, Dávid Szegő’s compositions have mainly been conceptual music for contemporary dance pieces, but now he shows a completely different side of his compositions of his individuality. Daveform Quintet plays modern jazz compositions of modern jazz music, full of exciting and unusual twists and turns. The quintet’s music is renewed from concert to concert, adapting time and space, constantly in motion, but with a pauses for a moment to gather new momentum.
